táng cù lǐ ji

táng cù lǐ ji is very popular in China. To prepare this dish we need salt, you can take one or 2 tablespoons, salt is important for all kind of dishes including táng cù lǐ ji. Sugar, 2 tablespoon, this will help to melt the Zhu Jiao as quickly as possible. You can get white sugar because it is more suitable for the táng cù lǐ ji.

It is a tradition now to add the wine into the Zhu Jiao, Chinese people love to add the drinks specially the juices into these kind of dishes, the most common is cider which is an alcoholic form of apple juice.

Get 2 onions which should be green and fresh, without onions this dish is incomplete, so cut the onions and put them into pan with oil, heat a little bit so the onion turn into brown. It seems so cool when we see the different plates of ingredients upon the table in a row, the plates of salt, sugar, cornstarch, cooking wine, vinegar, tomato ketchup, chopped ginger, chopped garlic and green onion all together.
Now mix the tomato ketchup, sugar, salt and garlic in bowl and stir it well.

Táng Cù Lǐ Ji Cooking Method : Get an oven and heat it. Pour some cooking oil and add the Zhu Jiao slowly, you can use the chopsticks for this purpose as well. Increase the temperature to 80 centigrade and keep cooking till the pieces of Zhu Jiao turn golden.

Now add the ketchup mixture and stir with great attention. Add the green onion in the end and cook it for 1 minute. The color of the dish will be brown and red because of Zhu Jiao and tomatoes, it will look pretty nice in the pan and its smell will attract the people around.

Avoid too much heat because it can spoil the táng cù lǐ ji. So be careful and just pay attention toward your work as cooking is a professional work so you shouldn’t be lazzy while cooking the meal specially táng cù lǐ ji.
